Pigment: A Mountain Walk in Forty Colours

Pigment: A Mountain Walk in Forty Colours

Begun 2025, Honister Quarry & Fleetwith Pike, Cumbria, UK

Pigment is an ongoing research and creative project exploring geology, colour, walking and place through the collection and making of pigments gathered from Fleetwith Pike and the Honister Pass in the Lake District. The work combines walking, drawing, printmaking and material experimentation, and will develop into exhibitions, publications and guided walks.

ParaBolic (University of Leeds)

In 2026, aspects of the Pigment project were developed through ParaBolic, a collaborative research project with the University of Leeds. The project explored pigment-making, material practice and creative enquiry through a series of workshops and collaborative activities.
